Westgold to Demerge Reedy and Comet Projects into New ASX-Listed Entity, Valiant Gold. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/9UVBVM5

In a decisive move to sharpen its operational focus, Westgold Resources has unveiled plans to demerge its non-core Reedy and Comet gold projects, spinning them out to form a new, standalone ASX-listed entity named Valiant Gold.

This strategic initiative, slated for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, reflects Westgold’s intent to streamline its asset portfolio, allowing the company to dedicate its full attention and capital to advancing its larger, higher-grade core operations in the Murchison and Southern Goldfields regions.

By separating these assets, Westgold aims to unlock shareholder value, presenting investors with two distinct investment opportunities: a streamlined, core-focused gold producer and a dedicated exploration and development vehicle in Valiant Gold.

As part of the transaction, Valiant Gold will seek to raise between A$65 million and A$75 million through an initial public offering, which includes a A$20 million priority offer reserved for eligible Westgold shareholders, ensuring that existing investors have the first opportunity to participate in the new venture’s growth trajectory.

The demerger and subsequent listing remain subject to the requisite approvals from the ASX, with the transaction expected to reach finality by late March 2026.

Upon completion, the newly formed Valiant Gold is positioned to independently advance the Reedy and Comet projects, pursuing their development potential while Westgold simultaneously refines its focus on its core production hubs.

Westgold’s managing director and CEO, Wayne Bramwell, explained that the company is concentrating on expanding its larger, core operating assets. He noted that establishing Valiant creates an independent, well-funded gold company capable of realizing value from smaller assets like the Comet and South Emu-Triton underground mines, while also unlocking exploration potential across the Reedy and Comet packages.
