The Modern Authority Playbook: How to Become the Go-To Expert in Your Industry. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/3iuHPk2

Becoming the go-to expert in your industry is one of the most reliable ways to attract prospective clients, customers, and opportunities.

The term “expert” carries credibility and prestige, and in a crowded, always-on digital market, specificity and visibility matter more than ever.

Traditional credentials alone no longer guarantee success; instead, it is the ability to demonstrate real-world value that sets professionals apart.

The good news is that the path is simple: choose a narrow niche, publish useful ideas consistently, and speak in public as often as you can.

This approach requires a shift in mindset. Rather than hoarding knowledge, you must solve real problems publicly.

Share practical frameworks and hard-won lessons rather than vague opinions. By letting your work, not constant self-promotion, do the persuading, you naturally build a following.

Over time, these small, repeated acts compound into trust, referrals, and a durable professional reputation. When you consistently show up with solutions, you become the obvious choice for valuable new clients and highly credible opportunities.

The goal is not to claim expertise with a label. Anyone can print a title on a business card, but few are willing to put in the effort required to maintain that standard.

The goal is to earn a reputation by being consistently useful, specific, and visible in a defined area. It is about building a body of work that speaks for itself.

Here is a contemporary three-step process for doing exactly that: narrow your focus, share your insights relentlessly, and step onto the stage to amplify your voice. Read more...

Dangote Buys 25% Stake in Kenya Pipeline for $327 Million. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/e38SzL3

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has acquired a 25% stake in Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), the state-controlled operator of a petroleum transportation network serving Kenya and neighbouring countries, in a transaction valued at approximately 42.5 billion Kenyan shillings ($327 million).

Dangote announced the acquisition on Wednesday at the Financial Times Africa Summit in London, saying his group had purchased a quarter of the pipeline network used to distribute petroleum products. He did not identify which entity executed the transaction.

The investment gives Dangote an interest in infrastructure that transports fuel from the port of Mombasa across Kenya and into neighbouring markets, complementing his planned expansion into oil refining in East Africa.

The transaction corresponds to a block of 4.5 billion KPC shares traded on the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Monday. The shares represent approximately 24.76% of the company’s 18.17 billion outstanding shares, just below the 25% threshold at which Kenyan rules require a buyer to make a takeover offer to all shareholders.

The block traded at between 9.02 shillings and 9.36 shillings per share, slightly above the 9-shilling price at which KPC listed in March.

KCB Capital, the investment banking arm of Kenya’s largest lender, handled the purchase for its client, while Rock Investment Bank represented the sellers.

The shares were held by state institutions that had invested in KPC during its initial public offering, including the National Social Security Fund and the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority.

Contested Sale Follows Kenya Pipeline IPO

The acquisition follows Kenya’s sale of a 65% stake in KPC through an initial public offering that ran from January 19 to February 19, with trading commencing on March 9. The transaction marked the country’s first major share sale in two decades as the government sought to raise revenue amid limited fiscal room. Read more...

Resign With Grace: A Practical Guide to Leaving a Job Well. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/54N3ZsN

Sometimes leaving a company is an easy choice. Often it is not. Either way, one of the most important career choices you can make is how you leave your current employer.

Like any relationship, every company has faults and virtues. At the end of a relationship, people tend to focus on the faults. That is human, but it is not strategic.

“Take This Job and Shove It” is a country song, not a best practice.

“Find a job you like and you add five days to every week.”

— H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Breaking Up Is Hard to Do

Leaving a company is like breaking up with a boyfriend or girlfriend. Regardless of how you do it, emotions will be involved.

The longer the relationship, the deeper the feelings. Keep this in mind during the separation.

People express emotions differently, so be prepared to respond with compassion, even when the other person is upset, disappointed, or surprised.

This does not mean you must explain every frustration you have ever felt. It means you should recognize that a resignation affects other people: your manager, your team, your customers, and your suppliers.

A calm, professional departure protects your reputation and makes the transition easier for everyone.

In practice, tell your manager first and in private. Keep your resignation brief and positive, offer a reasonable transition plan, and finish your remaining commitments well.

Avoid gossip, angry emails, and social-media complaints. Thank colleagues for what you learned, stay available for handoffs, and leave good contact information.

You may not control how you feel, but you control how you leave. Grace is not weakness; it is long-term strategy. The story of your departure will follow you. Make it one you can be proud of. Read more...

Malawi Delegation Visits GoldBod to Study Ghana’s Gold-Sector Reforms. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/MbfR5FP

A delegation from Malawi, led by the Minister for Mines, Honourable Thokozani Tembo, has visited the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) to study Ghana’s reforms in the gold sector, with particular focus on licensing, pricing, formalisation and efforts to combat smuggling.

The engagement provided the delegation with an opportunity to examine GoldBod’s regulatory framework and understand how Ghana is organising its gold-trading industry to maximise foreign-exchange earnings and retain greater value from its mineral resources.

Honourable Tembo said Malawi was seeking practical lessons from Ghana’s experience so that it could avoid the challenges associated with developing a gold industry without effective purchasing and regulatory systems.

The delegation expressed particular interest in addressing price disparities between official purchasing channels and informal buyers, which contribute to gold smuggling and weaken formal trade.

They noted that closing the gap between official and informal prices is central to encouraging miners and dealers to use formal channels, thereby improving traceability and government revenue.

GoldBod’s Director of Responsible Mining and Sustainability, Professor Ishmael Quaicoe, explained that establishing the Board under the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140) consolidated key gold-trading functions that were previously spread across several institutions.

He said the arrangement had created a more coordinated system, with GoldBod responsible for the gold-trading value chain, including purchasing, assaying, refining and exporting, while the Minerals Commission retains responsibility for regulating mining operations.

Professor Quaicoe also outlined GoldBod’s four-tier licensing system, which covers grassroots buying agents, regional buyers, aggregators and self-financed aggregators.

The tiered structure is intended to bring different categories of buyers into a regulated framework, improve oversight and support responsible sourcing across the value chain.

The visit underscored Ghana’s growing role as a reference point for African countries seeking to strengthen gold-sector governance and improve value retention. Read more...

A Day in Florence: A Curated Guide to Art, Coffee, and Wine. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/jTHNcvr

Florence rewards the traveller who moves with intention. In a single day, you can trace the arc of the Renaissance inside the Uffizi, stand on a bridge whose shops have held gold since the 16th century, and pause for a cappuccino in a café that has welcomed guests since 1733.

The key is not to rush but to sequence the day well: art when your mind is fresh, walking when the city is golden, and wine when the pace finally slows.

Morning: Begin Like a FlorentineItalian bars are not the dim, late-night establishments the word might suggest elsewhere. They are neighbourhood cafés, places for a standing espresso, a cappuccino, a brioche, or a light aperitivo. The ritual is quick, social, and deeply embedded in daily life.

For a historic start, two names stand out: Caffè Gilli, founded in 1733 and still a polished corner of Florentine café culture, and Caffè Rivoire, whose terrace faces Piazza della Signoria. Order standing at the bar, watch the room, and let the city wake around you.

Late Morning: The UffiziArrive at the Uffizi as early as your booking allows. Move slowly through Botticelli, Leonardo, and Michelangelo, letting a few works hold your attention rather than trying to see everything. Art first, while your mind is sharp.

Afternoon: Ponte Vecchio and a Slow WalkCross the Arno by Ponte Vecchio, where jewellers’ shops have held gold since the 16th century. Wander through Oltrarno, pause in a quiet piazza, and resist the urge to hurry.

Evening: A Glass of ChiantiFinish with a glass of Chianti in a small enoteca or at a neighbourhood wine bar. By then, Florence has done what it does best: turned a single day into a sequence of remembered moments. Read more...

Rwanda Studies Ghana’s GoldBod Model as Gold Export Earnings Reach US$11.6 Billion. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/006Q3mU

Rwanda is examining Ghana’s gold-sector reforms as a potential model for improving its own gold trading and resource-management systems.

A delegation from the Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board, led by Chief Executive Officer Alice Uwase, visited the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) to study Ghana’s approach to reforming the gold trading industry. GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., received the delegation.

The Rwandan team commended GoldBod for setting the pace in gold trading reforms, especially in licensing, curbing smuggling, promoting mineral value addition and strengthening environmental protection.

The engagement reflects growing regional interest in Ghana’s efforts to formalise gold trading, improve oversight and ensure natural resources deliver greater economic benefits.

For Rwanda, the visit offered insight into how formal licensing and stronger oversight can reduce illicit trade and increase returns from gold.

Sammy Gyamfi highlighted GoldBod’s contribution to Ghana’s economy. He noted that Ghana generated US$10.8 billion from gold exports in 2025, while earnings had reached US$11.6 billion as of October 2026.

He stressed the importance of African countries learning from one another and sharing experiences so that natural resources can be managed more effectively and used to maximise national and regional benefits.

The visit also allowed discussion of practical reforms in mining. GoldBod’s Director for Responsible Mining, Prof. Ishmael Quaicoo, outlined initiatives to support mining formalisation, improve access to financing and promote environmentally responsible gold processing.

These measures are central to Ghana’s broader effort to make gold trading more transparent, better regulated and more sustainable.

The exchange underscores how regional cooperation can help African countries strengthen governance of natural resources and capture more value from their mineral wealth. Read more...

Ghana and Canada Deepen Strategic Partnership Through Official Visit and Letter of Intent - Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/unASS3R

I had the honour of accepting a special invitation from Canada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Anita Anand, to undertake an official visit to Canada.

The visit underscored the depth of our longstanding friendship and offered a valuable opportunity to advance shared priorities.

Yesterday in Ottawa, we signed a Letter of Intent reaffirming our commitment to deepen and expand excellent bilateral relations.

It focuses on mutually agreed priority areas: aviation, railway development, trade facilitation, education, agribusiness, value addition, mining, counterterrorism, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and the commencement of negotiations for a defence agreement.

These areas reflect a forward-looking agenda aligned with both countries’ strategic interests.

Minister Anand graciously hosted my delegation and me for a substantive and progressive bilateral meeting covering a wide range of topics.

We discussed how Ghana and Canada can become strong allies within the framework of President Mahama’s Reset Agenda and Canada’s new Strategic Plan for Africa, which was fortuitously launched last year on Ghana’s Independence Anniversary, March 6.

This alignment of vision creates a solid foundation for enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors.

Beyond the Letter of Intent, we are exploring structured labour mobility pathways and increased scholarships to deepen people-to-people ties and build capacity.

We agreed to forge closer partnership in responding to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, addressing instability in Haiti, and combating violent extremism in the Sahel.

These commitments reflect our shared responsibility to promote peace, security, and human dignity beyond our borders.

The discussions were productive, forward-looking, and grounded in mutual respect. We remain committed to sustained engagement and practical follow-up in the months ahead for mutual benefit. Read more...
